Few items of note this week, but enough to send out an email to folks.
House Floor Activity
- The House convenes at noon on Tuesday, with
the usual collection of suspension bills up.
- The one bill under a Rule this week will be
another appropriations package - this one covering most agencies through the end of the year, but not DHS. Rules is meeting at 5 PM on Tuesday to consider this, which means a floor vote between Wednesday and Friday.
- Last votes could be as late as 3 PM on Friday.
House Committee Activity
- Nada. Committee tooling-up has been delayed somewhat by the shutdown.
Senate Floor Activity
- The Senate convenes at 1 PM on Tuesday, technically continuing to consider the previously item of the middle east foreign policy bill.
- Last night Senate Republicans released
their appropriations package, following the latest Trump proposal. Unless Democrats agree to earlier consideration, we won't see a procedural cloture vote on this package until Thursday or Friday.
Senate Committee Activity
- On
Thursday at 10 AM the Energy and Natural Resources committee will be holding a "Roundtable" to "Discuss the United States' Overall Role in the Arctic from a Domestic and International Perspective." The topics covered are "natural resource development and
environmental stewardship."
