>>If you say one thing today – It’s
past time for Donald Trump to end his destructive shutdown and reopen the government so that the people charged with enforcing environmental protections can return to work and safeguard our kids’ health and the great outdoors.
>>If you do one thing today – Use
this targeted social guidance to keep pressure up
on vulnerable Republican targets (especially McSally) and urge them to reopen the government

#TrumpShutdown
-
Yesterday, the Senate voted on two bills:
-
The first, supported by Trump and many Republicans, offered temporary protection for dreamers in exchange for $5.7 billion for a border wall.
-
Two republicans voted no, while Manchin was the only Democratic that voted yes
-
The second, backed by Schumer and many Democrats, was a continuing resolution that would open the government through February 8th and provide no border wall money.
-
Republicans Alexander, Collins, Gardner, Murkowski, Isaacson, and Romney all voted yes
-
McSally, Ernst, Tillis, Perdue, and Daines were all targets of ours, but all stood with the president
-
Neither bill got the 60 votes required to pass.
-
As it’s unclear what the next step is, (could be more symbolic votes, could be a bipartisan compromise), we’re going to stay the course and keep up pressure on our target Republicans.
-
Big asks:
-
Use this
targeted social guidance to keep pressure up on vulnerable Republican
targets (especially McSally) and urge them to reopen the government
-
