#TrumpShutdown | Accountability guidance

To win the next showdown over a shutdown, we must hold our targets accountable

Congress has a moral obligation to ensure that Trump’s divisive political stunt doesn’t continue to disrupt the programs that protect our kids’ health and the great outdoors for future generations. The 35-day Trump shutdown cost the economy approximately $3 billion, kept public servants from their jobs safeguarding our health, and did irreversible damage to our national parks. To avoid the next shutdown and position our campaign for a win, we have three essential opportunities:

1. Hold Republican Senate targets accountable for the damage caused by the shutdown

2. Support our champions and incoming freshman in the House, and

3. Pressure conferees to not fund an unnecessary border wall
