John Dingell's funeral may affect the timing of some of the activity below, particularly the House hearings. The two Natural Resources hearings on Tuesday are the most likely to get delayed.
House Floor Activity
- The House convenes at noon on Monday, with the
usual collection of suspension bills.
- The only bill currently at Rules is a joint resolution on the US role in Yemen.
- Considering the imminent funding deadline, however, it is likely there will be at least some sort of vote aiming to prevent another shutdown.
House Committee Activity
- On
Tuesday at 10 AM the Energy & Mineral Resources subcommittee of Natural Resources will be holding a hearing on "Climate Change: Preparing for the Energy Transition."
- On
Tuesday at 2 PM the Indigenous Peoples subcommittee of Natural Resources will be holding a hearing on "The Impacts of Climate Change on Tribal Communities."
- On
Wednesday at 10 AM the National Parks subcommittee of Natural Resources will be holding a hearing on "Climate Change and Public Lands: Examining Impacts and Considering Adaptation Opportunities."
- On
Wednesday at 10 AM the Science Committee will be holding a hearing on "The State of Climate Science and Why it Matters."
- On
Wednesday at 10 AM the Energy & Water subcommittee of Appropriations will be holding an oversight hearing on the Department of Energy's Weatherization Assistance Program.
Senate Floor Activity
- The Senate convenes at 3 PM on Monday, with a 5:30 PM cloture vote on the Senate's lands package legislation (S.47).
- There may be a vote on a Lee amendment targeting the Antiquities Act, but this is not expected to go anywhere.
- Depending on whether or not a Unanimous Consent agreement is reached, final passage could be on Wednesday at the latest.
- Afterwards the Senate is likely to move to either William Barr's nomination for Attorney General or some form of appropriations legislation to prevent another government shutdown.
Senate Committee Activity
- On
Wednesday at 10 AM the Homeland Security and Governmental Affairs Committee is marking up several legislative items.
