Hi all,

Last month, Oil Change and 17 partners released a new report called Drilling Towards Disaster, outlining how the the U.S is moving further and faster than any other country to expand oil and gas extraction, at precisely the time we must rapidly decarbonize to avoid climate disaster. The report offers recommendations on how to stem this rising tide, explaining why such action should be a key plank of comprehensive climate policy at all levels.

We're hosting a webinar for allies next Tuesday afternoon, in which we'll be explaining some of the report's key takeaways and talking about how to best utilize its findings in our collective work.

What: Webinar on Drilling Towards Disaster report (and how to use it)
When: Tuesday, Feb. 19 at 3pm ET / 12pm PT (one hour max)
Who: You! Plus other partner groups, and experts from Oil Change.

Drilling Towards Disaster: Why U.S. Oil and Gas Expansion Is Incompatible with Climate Limits – Webinar

Join Oil Change experts for an interactive overview of the findings of the new Drilling Towards Disaster report, which demonstrates why winding down U.S. fossil fuel production should be a key part of any comprehensive climate policy.

The Drilling Towards Disaster report, released recently along with 17 partners, examines the urgent need for U.S. leadership to manage a rapid and just decline of fossil fuel production. Our new analysis shows that the United States is moving further and faster than any other country to expand oil and gas extraction, at precisely the time in which the world must begin rapidly decarbonizing to avoid runaway climate disaster.

This expansion of fossil fuel production poses a grave danger to the climate, to communities and tribes resisting infrastructure on their lands, and to efforts to pass and implement meaningful climate policy at the federal, state, and local levels of government. Join us to dive into some of the highlights of the report and discuss why addressing fossil fuel supply should be a central part of any climate policy package. Presentation to be followed by Q&A session.
