As you know, the House voted and rejected Donald Trump’s fake and racist emergency declaration earlier this week. We now have a brief window (about 3 weeks, but the exact timing is unclear) to impact the Senate vote. We are gearing up for this fight and hope you will join us.

We are holding a movement-wide call on Monday, March 4th, at 2:00 ET/11:00 PT to share the latest updates on mobilization plans, timing, and strategy. We will be joined by Congressman Joaquin Castro (D-TX), who has been leading the fight in Congress, and we will discuss concrete ways to engage in the Senate fight.

We are close to gathering 500,000 petitions against the emergency declaration and are planning to deliver these next week. We are also planning a national call-in day to the Senate on the same day. There is also work happening in targeted states, which we will discuss further on Monday’s call.

There is so much going on right now and we are all stretched thin, but we hope many of you can join this important call and plug in to the extent you are able as we work together to defeat this racist “emergency” declaration.
