On Offshore. According to Politico, “Florida Gov. Ron DeSantis doubled down against offshore drilling in comments Monday in Tampa, adding he thought the Trump administration should leave the Sunshine State’s waters off the table when it finalizes a five-year offshore drilling plan. DeSantis said he would be ‘raising Cain’ if the White House and Interior Department offer up Florida’s shores to drillers. But he suggested the administration is being cautious in its public statements about the plan, which is still being drafted, out of legal concerns. ‘I don’t anticipate it’s going to be a problem. The president is an oceanfront property owner in Florida. He understands, you know, kind of where Floridians are on this,’ DeSantis said.” [Politico, 4/16/19 (=)]
