Trump's Climate Denier Committee Is a National Security Threat
The New York Times reports that President Trump is
preparing to launch his latest attempt to deny climate change and spread disinformation about climate science: a National Security Council committee.
The body is led by notorious climate change denier William Happer, who once compared the "demonization of carbon dioxide" to the persecution of Jews under Hitler.
Trump’s climate denier committee is a coterie of discredited scientists who have spent their entire careers trying to hide the truth on climate change from the American people. The committee’s real goal is clear: to undermine the Trump administration’s
own warnings about the security risks of climate change. The committee has been uniformly decried and debunked by scientific and national security professionals alike. It has no credibility and should be disbanded immediately.
