Message of the Week: December 2, 2019

As members of Congress attend the 2019 United Nations Framework Convention on Climate Change (COP25) this week, extreme weather is impacting communities and nations worldwide, underscoring the need for swift and meaningful climate action. Extreme weather events are becoming more frequent and intense, with science clearly showing that climate change is driving these patterns.

Thankfully, U.S. Representatives Donald McEachin, Deb Haaland, Debbie Dingell, Earl Blumenauer, Paul Tonko, and Chellie Pingree - along with over 150 co-sponsors -  introduced the 100% Clean Economy Act of 2019, a bill that would transition the United States to a 100% clean economy by 2050 and require net zero carbon pollution.
