Hello, everyone-

CAP put out a paper yesterday, Powering America’s Economic Recovery by Protecting and Restoring Nature, which lays out the economic case for conservation investments in the face of the COVID-19 pandemic and the resulting recession. It advocates that Congress prioritize the following areas to fight climate change, correct for racial disparities in access to the outdoors, boost our natural resilience against future diseases, and create up to ~700,000 new jobs – many focused in high need regions and communities - with $39 billion investments:

Each section has the associated specific recommendations, dollar investment figures and estimated job numbers. There are a few sample tweets below. Any help promoting the report would be much appreciated!

Thanks!

Congress can help us recover from #COVID19 by ensuring that ALL communities can access the health benefits of nature.

It can do so while also creating up to 700,000 new jobs.

Build parks + Reforest lands + Clean up mines and oil wells + Restore our coasts + Remove unnecessary dams = 700,000 jobs

Congress can power America’s economic recovery by helping protect 30% of U.S. lands and ocean by 2030. #Protect30x30
