Hi folks,
Please consider signing your organization onto this letter urging President Biden to expeditiously nominate a Director of the U.S. Fish and Wildlife Service, a key position that has remained vacant after more than 7 months since Biden took
office. The letter expresses concern with the administration's apparent lack of urgency to fill this important role, as well as the implications it has under the Federal Vacancies Reform Act.
The letter also encourages Biden to nominate a candidate from outside the agency, who is committed to reform. The Service has long been plagued by political interference and bureaucratic inefficiencies that delay and hamper protections
for species on the brink. A new Director from outside the agency can help empower scientists to act without fear of retribution by restoring scientific integrity and reinvigorating the agency’s commitment to its core wildlife conservation mission.

Thanks in advance,
