The first letter, at this link: Mayorkas/Haaland Letter (https://forms.gle/A63G9fiLBoCQEjUV9) expresses serious concern about the ongoing construction of levee wall in the lower Rio Grande Valley and poses specific questions about that construction and about DHS' recent announcement regarding cancellation of contracts and next steps. Even if your organization isn't directly engaged in work in the Rio Grande Valley, please consider signing the letter. If DHS can get away with wall construction there, I expect we'll be seeing "gaps" being closed in other states soon.

The second letter, at this link: H.R. 4848 Support Letter (https://forms.gle/91qq7BWvyfzm8B9K8) demonstrates support for H.R. 4848, Congresswoman Rice's bill to repeal the authority for the Secretary of DHS to waive "all laws" for border wall and roads. We're hoping to show widespread geographical support for this, so please encourage colleagues on the northern border to consider signing also (and recall that there have been bills that would expand this authority to all borders, including the coasts!).
