Subject: New sign on letter in support of the Resolution to Censure Rep. Gosar - sign on by 1pm
Importance: High

Thanks so much to CBD for their early leadership on bringing us together in support of the resolution to censure Rep. Gosar.  TWS had a letter narrowly focused on encouraging a yes vote ready to go; I’m pasting it below and am happy to open it up for sign on (please share with other networks!).  We’re short on time so I’ll do this the old fashioned way: email me by 1pm today if you can sign your organization on.  No names needed – just organizational sign on.  Rules meets at 1145.  Here’s our three sentence letter:

Dear Representative:

On behalf of million members and supporters, and in resolute condemnation of Representative Gosar’s actions, including posting a manipulated video on his social media accounts depicting himself killing Representative Alexandria Ocasio-Cortez and attacking President Joseph Biden, the undersigned groups urge your support for H. Res. 789.  Violent, offensive, and threatening behaviors perpetrated or encouraged by Members of Congress have long-reaching, harmful impacts. It’s important that this Congress send a clear and prompt signal to our country and the world by condemning such actions.

This is your democracy. Make it. Protect it. Pass it on.”  Thurgood Marshall
