Please consider amplifying a new analysis by the Center for Biological (released Friday) showing that the Biden administration approved 34% more oil and gas drilling permits on public lands in its first year than the Trump administration did.

Obviously, these permits will only worsen harm to people and the environment and provide another painful example of Biden’s failure to keep his climate promise to end federal oil and gas leasing and permitting.

Note that we’re lifting this up just before the one-year anniversary of Biden’s 27 Jan 2021 Executive Order 14008, which promised a whole of government approach to tackling the climate crisis and promised a comprehensive review of the federal oil and gas program—a review that, upon completion, ignored the climate incompatibility of new commitments of federal oil and gas onshore and offshore.
