Seems likely at this point that they’ll hold off on the CRA until tomorrow, but we’re still keeping an eye on the floor.

I was told we’re not likely to see the SAP until close to or right up against the vote. (Which makes no sense to me.)

Does anyone have an update on vote timing (they are on PACT Act now)?

Also, is there a SAP?

Ann

Subject: [cdp] CRA Vote on NEPA Regulations

Greetings All,

A quick update: the latest we have heard is that the vote on S.J. Res 55 could be today, but it’s not certain. Whether today or tomorrow, please consider having your organization amplify the attached letter via social media. Earthjustice released a statement on the CRA vote and the letter which can be found here. In addition, below are some sample posts that folks can feel free to use – I know some organizations are working on other posts, so please do share those, if possible as well.

DRAFT SOCIAL:

S.J. Res 55 would undermine the review of the impacts of federal decisions under NEPA that give communities a say in the projects impacting their communities. We urge our Senators to reject this resolution and #ProtectNEPA. https://earthjustice.org/sites/default/files/files/opposition_letter_re_s.j.res_._55_from_200_groups.pdf

NEPA gives communities the voice and the agency to have a say in the projects built in their communities. Don’t let the Senate roll back progress and silence communities. Tell them to vote NO on S.J. Ress 55. #ProtectNEPA https://earthjustice.org/sites/default/files/files/opposition_letter_re_s.j.res_._55_from_200_groups.pdf

S.J. Res 55 would undermine NEPA and allow polluting industries to put profits over people. Communities are not ‘red tape’ to be discarded in the name of development. Our Senators must oppose this reckless resolution. https://earthjustice.org/sites/default/files/files/opposition_letter_re_s.j.res_._55_from_200_groups.pdf

President Biden took important steps to restore certainty and efficiency in NEPA after the Trump Administration eviscerated public input, review, and accountability under the law. Republican Senators are trying to reverse progress. It’s time our Senators put the health of people over profit of corporations and reject this resolution. https://earthjustice.org/sites/default/files/files/opposition_letter_re_s.j.res_._55_from_200_groups.pdf

As always, please feel free to contact me with questions.

Thanks!
