The IRA added funds for CEQ and others to help process NEPA compliance faster. That should be enough.

We’re trying to get our heads around what existing legislation/bills already address the so-called shortcomings of the permitting processes that Manchin is critical of. Has anyone done an analysis of this? For example, what is not already addressed by the FAST Act?

Similarly, are folks aware of bills or legislation that might address the concerns that have been raised about electric transmission (including by Dems who assert this as a reason for supporting Manchin’s side deal)?

Thank you for your insights,

Karen
