Dear Colleagues – President Trump built hundreds of miles of wall along the U.S.-Mexico border, severely damaging some of our most sensitive federal public lands and habitat for critically endangered species and harming border communities. Please consider signing into this letter to support border communities, border lands and border wildlife in FY 2024 appropriations. You can sign onto the letter and also view the letter at this link. The letter is also attached for your review. The deadline is COB next Monday 5/8.

The letter asks appropriators to:

  1. Rescind all remaining funding for border wall and reject any proposals for new funding;
  2. Include language transferring at least $225 M from the Department of Homeland Security to the land management agencies for mitigation from damage by wall construction as requested by the president; and
  3. Ensure development of a robust remediation plan.

Especially with a new House majority that is very supportive of new wall, it will be very important to send a strong letter. Let me know if you have any questions. Please sign on!!

Cheers, Mary Beth
