Hi friends,
Bumping this one up since I’m going to start interviewing shortly: Oceana is
hiring a federal policy manager,
who will join Oceana’s U.S. campaign to reduce the production
and use of single-use plastic.
- This individual will lead the campaign’s federal advocacy with Congress and the executive branch by developing advocacy
strategies, preparing advocacy materials, analyzing legislation and agency proposals, persuasively presenting Oceana positions to policy makers, coordinating with coalition partners, and collaborating closely with Oceana’s field representatives in coastal
states. The Federal Policy Manager may also assist with state and local advocacy on reducing single-use plastics, as well as other Oceana campaigns and organizational objectives. The position will be based in Washington, D.C.
Also sharing these Oceana openings, with apologies for cross-postings of this message!
Campaign Director, Offshore Drilling
- The campaign director will lead a team of scientists, advocates, lawyers, communications professionals and organizers to win Oceana campaigns on climate
and energy policy. The ideal candidate will be creative, strategic and passionate about ocean conservation. The Campaign Director will design and implement policy campaigns, serve as a spokesperson for Oceana with the media and other audiences, and deliver
results. The ideal candidate will have experience in policy, advocacy, communications and strategy development thinking. This position is an exciting opportunity to be a leader on the US campaign team.
Senior Counsel
- Oceana seeks a Senior Counsel to provide legal support for the advocacy campaigns run out of the Washington, D.C., office. The Senior Counsel will also
advise the campaigns on legal compliance and risk mitigation and assist in the administration of the Law Department. The Senior Counsel may also engage in special projects, including to research new campaign issue or geographic areas; provide legal support
to campaigns run by other Oceana offices around the world; assist in defending Oceana against legal claims brought by outside parties; and perform other tasks managed by the Law Department as needed.
Senior Field Representative, New York
- Oceana’s Field Team works in strategic states to reduce plastic pollution, fight the expansion of offshore drilling and seismic airgun blasting, protect
the North Atlantic Right Whale, and promote responsible fishing practices, and defend core environmental laws like the Magnuson-Stevens Act. This position will initially focus on building support for our plastics campaign at the local and state level in New
York and replicating our winning model to stop the expansion of offshore oil and gas drilling activities by engaging municipalities and business leaders.
Please feel free to share with your networks – thank you!
Best regards,
Lara
