As @ConocoPhillips weighs its decision on whether to fund the #WillowProject, it’s become increasingly clear that the impacts of drilling in the Arctic simply won’t stay in the Arctic.

The Willow project will directly threaten critical habitat for migrating birds that travel throughout the country and the world. And we could lose more than birds if ConocoPhillips moves forward.

With unprecedented forest fires in Canada, heat bubbles in Texas and unheard-of tornadoes in California, floods in the Northeast and setting the record for the hottest week ever recorded, a rapidly warming Arctic has made extreme weather events more common across the planet.

We can’t afford the impacts of #Willow and any other industrialization and extraction in the Arctic. It’s time to #PreserveTheReserve and protect America’s Arctic.
