From July 16, 2023 through July 22, 2023, VineSight found the following activity that contained misinformation or toxic narratives related to clean energy:
400 tweets with more than 10 retweets.
300 Facebook posts with more than 10 engagements.
300 Telegram posts with more than 1,000 views.
50 Truth Social posts with more than 10 retruths.
50 Gab posts with more than 10 reposts.
Approximately 30 percent of the people exposed to misinformation or toxic narratives related to clean energy on Twitter were exposed to one of the following themes:
CO2 Does Not Cause Climate Change ;
Clean Energy Sources Are Wasteful and Ineffective;
Scotland Has Chopped Down 16 Million Trees For Wind Turbines;
Costs of EVs Outweigh the Benefits;
Climate Change is a Hoax.
These narratives were also the focus of almost 100 percent of the Facebook engagements, as well as almost 100 percent of Telegram views, approximately 20 percent of Truth Social retruths, and almost 100 percent of Gab reposts identified in our tracking.
