Hi all,
The Biden Administration’s White House Council on Environmental Quality (CEQ) released a notice of proposed rulemaking to restore certainty, efficiency, transparency, and meaningful public engagement in federal decisions under the National Environmental Policy Act (NEPA). As proposed, these rules could go a long way towards ensuring the federal government adequately assesses climate and environmental justice before making a decision or funding critical infrastructure.
Once finalized, these will largely roll back changes to the Trump-era CEQ regulations and address statutory changes to NEPA included in the debt ceiling bill in early June.
CEQ will hold four virtual public meetings to provide a brief overview of the proposed rule and allow members of the public to provide verbal comments.
Please join us for a webinar and virtual briefing on Wednesday, September 6th at 6:00 pm EST to hear from experts who will outline the details of this draft proposed rule, answer questions, and provide more information on the upcoming virtual public hearings.
It is critical for the community to participate at the virtual public hearings and share why NEPA must be protected, strengthened, and how it is a bridge, not a barrier to a clean energy future!
