Hello All,

As many of you are aware, the House Committee on Natural Resources will be holding a hearing tomorrow on CEQ’s Phase II NEPA regulations. Republicans on the committee are branding CEQ’s effort as overreach and are upset that climate and environmental justice are included in the regulations, despite the fact that both have long been required considerations for reviews under NEPA.  We know that the federal government must consider the impacts of climate change on infrastructure and the health and safety impacts of federal decisions on communities living on the frontlines of the climate crisis. This letter supports those aspects of the rule and states that our organizations look forward to working to improve the rule before it goes final.
