Urgency
Fossil fuel-funded extremists are leading our nation to an unnecessary government shutdown due to their outrageous spending bills and attempts to pass dangerous anti-environmental poison pill riders.
Ask
As the threat of a government shutdown looms, we anticipate these extremists will employ similar tactics as before. To effectively counter this attack, our community should:
- Advocate for the maximum funding possible;
- Highlight the fossil fuel-funded extremists' outrageous spending bills that attack the institutions and people working to protect our public lands, water, and climate; and
- Oppose any poison pill riders, such as those that attempt to overhaul NEPA and fast-track fossil fuel projects without a thorough review.
