The Tennessee Valley Authority (TVA), the biggest public utility in the U.S., is shockingly one of the dirtiest utilities in America. In fact, despite TVA’s board now consisting of a majority of President Biden appointees, they still plan on doubling down on fossil fuel use by proposing new fossil gas plants as part of its Integrated Resource Plan (IRP) in early 2024. As you know, this is totally out of step with the Biden administration's national climate pledges. Evergreen’s new blog highlights how President Biden can use his executive power to bring power to the people by holding TVA’s board accountable to a cleaner IRP and untying themselves to a sinking ship of expensive, unreliable fossil fuels.
