Daily on Energy: Green groups make the case for Biden heavy truck emissions rules in court — “HEAVY-DUTY VEHICLE EMISSIONS RULES GET HELP IN COURT: Green and health advocacy groups are going toe-to-toe with Republicans over the Environmental Protection Agency’s tailpipe emissions standards for heavy-duty vehicles, looking to defend the standards they argue are crucial to curbing climate pollution. The details: Ten environmental and health groups filed a motion to intervene in the lawsuits today against the EPA’s trucking standards. The suits in question were filed last week in the U.S. Court of Appeals for the D.C. Electric Truck Maker Harbinger Announces $400 Million in Orders — “Harbinger is an electric truck manufacturer based in Southern California and focused on the medium-duty vehicle segment. The company today revealed that its order book of some 4,000 binding vehicle pre-orders is valued at more than $400 million. Harbinger made the announcement at the Advanced Clean Transportation Expo in Las Vegas. The orders include a multi-year order from Bimbo Bakeries USA, the food manufacturer behind brands like Sara Lee Bread and Entenmann's, and another deal from Thor Industries, the largest RV maker in the world.” [Yahoo! PepsiCo to expand EV fleet in California with Tesla semis, Ford vans — “PepsiCo (PEP.O), opens new tab said on Tuesday it would expand its fleet of electric vehicles in California, deploying 50 Class 8 Tesla Semi trucks and 75 Ford E-Transit electric vans at its facilities in the state over the next several months. Health Savings Could Near $250,000 When Electric School Bus Replaces Diesel — “It might be hoped that replacing a diesel school bus with a clean electric model would pay off for health and the environment. New research suggests that it does -- and gives a dollar figure for that payoff. Replacing a diesel bus with a clean electric model yields up to $247,600 in climate and health benefits per bus, according to research from Harvard University's T.H. Chan School of Public Health.
