Hi Everyone,
Ahead of today’s House Natural Resources Oversight hearing, in addition to the great guidance that TWS sent around, we also want to highlight a little lighter take on the hearing that you can share and follow,
the Sunrise Mountain Oil and Gas Company.
Sunrise Mountain Oil and Gas (SMOG) is a parody industry operator in the West that loves Secretary Zinke and all things energy dominance. SMOG is just as excited about the hearing as we are, please
share their statement and materials below.
Thanks!
Lauren

Oil & gas execs are back on top thanks to @SecretaryZinke & @realDonaldTrump.
This administration is making America great again one spill at a time.
The future is bright for oil & gas lobbyists. . . not so much for hunters, ranchers, sportsmen, outdoor recreationists, families, and local businesses.
New @SunriseMtOilGas blog: Who needs public input or enviro protections when oil & gas companies can make a profit?
Energy burdens have been a real drag on the oil & gas industry. . . until now! @SunriseMtOilGas is taking advantage of the friendly administration to make their mark on our national parks.

Ahead of Congressional Hearing on “Eliminating Energy Burdens” Sunrise Mountain Oil and Gas Announces Plans to Make 2018 the Year of Energy Dominance
(Grand Junction, CO)-- Sunrise Mountain Oil and Gas is poised to make 2018 the most successful year yet. With President Trump and Secretary of the Interior Ryan Zinke running the show, even more will be accomplished
than last year-- all in the name of energy dominance.
Today’s oversight hearing in the House Committee on Natural Resources, “Examining the Department of the Interior’s actions to eliminate onshore Energy Burdens,” will make it clear that 2018 will be a year
when our leaders in the U.S. Congress and the Trump administration stand firmly on the side of the oil and gas industry.
“The philosophy at SMOG has always been that there is no money or power in making rules that limit development just so our landscapes remain pristine. This year is a year to capitalize on this long overdue
moment in America, where energy dominance is the name of the game, in every way possible,” said John P. Dottson, Chief Executive Officer of Sunrise Mountain Oil and Gas. “Now that strict rules and undue burdens on our industry are a thing of the past, there
are no limits to what can be achieved this year and beyond.”
Last year, the administration and Interior Department made it their primary mission to rollback many of the Obama-era policies that unequivocally suffocated the oil and gas industry in order to preserve our
public landscapes. Many of these regulations, including the Bureau of Land Management's (BLM) Master Leasing Plan policy and the sage-grouse land management plans, crippled the oil and gas industry’s ability to take full advantage of our nation’s domestic
energy resources and public lands by prescribing where we could and could not develop.
Now that the chains are off in 2018, oil and gas companies are free to explore places they never imagined they could drill-- including on the doorstep of some of our most popular national monuments and parks.
