Hi all,
Following up on Izembek developments with
TWS’s statement
and sample tweets below:
With the government shutdown, @SecretaryZinke moves behind closed doors to destroy Alaska's Izembek National Wildlife Refuge.

Bulldozing wilderness: @SecretaryZinke just make an outrageous backroom deal to give away Alaska's Izembek National Wildlife Refuge.
http://wapo.st/2Dx9lv9
Even a government shutdown doesn't keep @SecretaryZinke from signing deal to destroy a wilderness area in Izembek National Wildlife Refuge.

@SecretaryZinke continues selling out our public lands even during the federal shutdown. Backroom deal paves way for road through wilderness area in Izembek National
Wildlife Refuge. http://wapo.st/2Dx9lv9
Thanks,

Subject: [cdp] CDP Call Notes: #TrumpShutdown Day 3 Edition!
>> If you say one thing today: President Trump and Republicans in Congress must put America’s future ahead of fringe special interests.
That means resolving the issues before them now: giving DREAMers a path to stay in the only country they’ve ever known, funding health insurance for 9 million children, and restoring a functioning federal government that protects the health of families and
American's great outdoors over corporate interests.
>> If you only do one thing today:
It is critical that we help drive the narrative on the #Trumpshutdown. We must make sure it falls to the rightful owner -- Trump and the Republicans. Please use the guidance to issue a statement and
flood your social media channels with the #TrumpShutdown and our key points.

TOPLINES
Recommendation: We do NOT want to have a shutdown message fight over details of immigration policy. Our main message should be a 10,000 foot broad, political, attack on Republicans
then followed later by more specifics, about DACA *and* CHIP, disaster aid and other relevant priorities.
