Subject: DEADLINE NOON MONDAY MARCH 5: Please sign onto letter supporting Carper Amdt on FEMA/ESA Rider in Senate DHS Authorization

Hi folks – Please sign the attached letter urging Senate HSGAC members to support Senator Carper’s amendment to the DHS Authorization Act, which would strike a harmful and sweeping
provision that exempts FEMA’s implementation of the National Flood Insurance Program from the Endangered Species Act (Section 1505) and replace it with GAO study language. So far, Defenders, NRDC, and CBD have all signed on. We would like to collect signatures
by 12pm on Monday, March 5 so we can get this up to the Hill on Tuesday in advance of the delayed markup.
