I know this is a quick turnaround on the letter, but a couple of thoughts from folks here at TWS on potential additional asks to consider:
- Asking for public meetings for this process? It would be good to push Senators to later question the CEQ nominee on in the
near future and would be easier to do if we make the ask now. The reg revisions in the 1980s had a few meetings that were open to the public throughout the process.
- Any thoughts on asking for a FACA committee to be established for the purposes of advising on the proposed rulemaking? The
thinking is that it could be a good delay tactic but, on the other hand, be careful what you wish for if they go for it in this administration and really push this rulemaking through.

Hi all,
Yesterday, the White House CEQ issued an ANPRM that sets the stage to roll back NEPA and the environmental review process across the entire federal government. CEQ is only offering the public an outrageously short 30-day comment period
for a rulemaking process that has the potential to impact every person in America on a scale that eclipses even tax reform.
Please consider signing on to this letter requesting that CEQ provide a minimum of 90 days to comment and allow for comments to be submitted via regular mail.
