Quick follow-up/point of clarification: non-202 area code numbers are ideal for this, so if you happen to have a non-DC phone number, you are especially helpful here.
Thanks!

Subject: [public-lands] Text Zinke this morning
Zinke is
doing a radio show this morning that includes a text-in option for folks to ask questions. If you’re interested, please consider texting one of the questions below to this number between 9-10am MT:
781-627-5483 or 781-NBS-LIVE
The goal here is not necessarily to get a question read (though that would be great), but to flood them with texts and feed the aura of controversy surrounding Zinke, sending the message that he can’t even appear on a conservative talk
radio show without being controversial.
Questions:
-
What did you talk about when you hosted the chairman of Halliburton, the chairman’s son, and a Whitefish real estate developer in your office for 90 minutes last August? Did you actually discuss the department’s history for that long?
-
What are the criteria, other than being involved in a private real estate deal, for you to give a private tour underneath the Lincoln Memorial?
-
If everything about the meeting was above-board, why list it as “HOLD” on your official calendar? Why not be transparent with the public about who has access to your office? Why did your scheduler know the attendees and topics of the meeting, but keep that
information hidden from the calendar you released to the public?
-
Given that you and your wife own land next to the peace park, isn’t it self-dealing to involve the nonprofit in a deal that will make your land significantly more valuable?
-
Why did you forward emails from the developer to your assistant Caroline, rather than your official email address as required by law?* What did you ask her to do with those emails?
-
Have you ever discussed Interior Department business with Halliburton chairman David Lesar? If so, what business?
Cheers,
--
