FWIW, Magallanes is the daughter of infamous climate denier Fred Palmer, once of Western Fuels Association and the Greening Earth Society, more recently a Senior VP at Peabody Coal, and now at Heartland Institute.

Palmer who once said "when you step on the accelerator, you are doing the Lord's work" http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=Vr9kanvxa6A

and a few weeks ago at the Heartland Institute said a bunch of crazy stuff about coal

  • The revolving door at Interior is being fueled by the #CultureOfCorruption perpetuated by @SecretaryZinke. To stop that revolving door, we must #InvestigateZinke https://wapo.st/2okFhK3

  • The cronyism at @Interior starts at the top with @SecretaryZinke and trickles all the way down to his staff. That’s why we must #InvestigateZinke – to end the #CultureofCorruption and stop the revolving door. https://wapo.st/2okFhK3
  • In case you needed more proof that oil was central to @SecretaryZinke’s attempt to shrink bears Bears Ears, the woman who oversaw the monuments review just left @Interior to work for @BP_plc #ZinkeScandal #InvestigateZinke https://wapo.st/2okFhK3

Facebook:

The culture of corruption at the Interior Department starts at the top with Ryan Zinke. The code of conduct he adheres to includes doing business with companies he regulates, abusing taxpayer dollars and making policy decisions at the behest of the very interests who stand to benefit from them financially. So perhaps it shouldn’t be a surprise that the staffer who oversaw the attempt to shrink the Bears Ears and Grand Staircase-Escalante National Monuments – a policy shift that oil companies begged for – is now going to work for BP.

To end the #CultureOfCorruption at DOI, we must hold Zinke accountable. We must #InvestigateZinke.
