National Walk Out & Moment of Solidarity

Dr. Christine Blasey Ford, whose story of sexual assault was exposed without her consent and who bravely agreed to publicly testify, is asking that the Senate Judiciary Committee leadership agree to fair conditions to enable her to tell her story.

We are asking you and your organization to join Tarana Burke, leader of the #MeToo movement, anti-violence, and survivor-led groups, for a National Walkout and Moment of Solidarity on Monday, September 24th at 1:00PM ET to show support for Dr. Blasey Ford and all survivors of sexual violence.

We are calling on people around the country to wear the color black and walk out (of their home, workplace, classroom, wherever they are) -- and capture it with a selfie to post on social media with the hashtags, #BelieveSurvivors. If anyone is not able to walk out or safely show their solidarity on social media, we’re asking people to use this opportunity to call their senators and demand senators they listen to survivors.

Here is how you take action for the National Walkout and Moment of Solidarity:

  1. Get social! Use this digital toolkit to get the word out and encourage supporters to join.

  2. Participate! At 1:00PM ET on Monday, post and share selfies on your social media properties and on the Facebook event page. Remember to tag #BelieveSurvivors.
