>>If you say one thing today — On
this Child Health Day, the Trump administration continues to sell out our kids' health and future generations to corporate polluters by weakening commonsense clean cars standards, allowing polluters to poison our drinking water with mercury, and proposing
to gut the clean power plan.

House
-
Out on recess (for a long while)
Senate Floor Activity
-
The Senate convenes at 3 PM on Monday, with a 5:30 PM cloture vote on the
long-term FAA Reauthorization bill.
-
In addition to that bill, they're likely going to vote on an opioids bill (H.R. 6).
-
Technically they've already proceeded to the Kavanaugh nomination, meaning that they could spend time on (or even force the next procedural vote) sometime this week. For now, however, it looks like the FBI investigation
will continue.
Senate Committee Activity
-
On
Tuesday at 10 AM the Energy & Natural Resources committee will be marking up several pieces of legislation. While not yet listed on the website, there will reportedly be an LWCF reauthorization and legislation on parks maintenance.
-
On
Wednesday at 2:15 PM the Superfund, Waste Management, and Regulatory Oversight subcommittee of Environment & Public Works will be holding a hearing on "Oversight of the Environmental Protection Agency's Implementation of Sound and Transparent Science in
Regulation."

His performance on Thursday alone was disqualifying (belligerent, hyper-partisan)
-
Even before this hearing, his record has made him unfit for the Supreme Court
-
Top targets:
-
D: Manchin, Donnelly, Heitkamp
-
R: Collins, Murkowski
-
Jones, Nelson came out as NO
-
Corker, Flake came out as YES

Recap of Thursday’s hearing
-
Yesterday was a really rough day. Watching Dr. Blasey Ford bravely came forward and told her story was emotional and honestly really difficult. She was so brave and she said She
was terrified. But that she came forward because it was her civic duty. The Republican response was truly horrific. For the first time ever, instead of asking questions of themselves, Republicans farmed their questions to a prosecutor setting it up like she
was on trial. Then kavanaugh spoke - he yelled, he was not composed, belligerent and attacked female senator, Senator Amy Klobuchar. He acted like Donald Trump. Here is
Sierra Club statement following Dr. Blasey Ford's testimony.
