All,

We are nearing the finish line in passing the Every Kid Outdoors Act which would formally authorize the Every Kid in a Park program (almost ended twice now by Zinke) to encourage 4th graders and their families to get outdoors. Please consider signing on to the attached sign-on letter being circulated by the Outdoors Alliance for Kids (OAK steering committee member, American Heart Association).

Let me know if you have any questions and thanks in advance!

best,
Jackie

Subject: [OAK Members] Every Kid Outdoors Act - Sign On Letter
To: oak-members@googlegroups.com <oak-members@googlegroups.com>

Hi all –

As you know, the Every Kid Outdoors Act was recently reported out of the Senate Energy and Natural Resources Committee, after passing the House of Representatives earlier this summer with overwhelming bipartisan support. The Outdoors Alliance for Kids (OAK) is circulating the attached sign-on letter in support of getting the legislation to the Senate floor and passing the Senate before the end of this Congress.

The Every Kid Outdoors Act would codify the Every Kid in a Park program, an initiative by the Department of Interior that gives all fourth graders (and their siblings and parents/guardians) free passes to national parks and lands. Earlier this year, Secretary Zinke indicated he was going to cut the program, making the Congressional directive to keep the program imperative.

This sign on letter is for organizations only: use this link to add your organization. Deadline is COB Wednesday, October 31. Please feel free share widely with your networks as well.

Thank you,

Kristy Anderson (on behalf of the Outdoors Alliance for Kids Policy Action Team)
