Please join NRDC and Defenders of Wildlife in sending the attached letter to Sen. Feinstein, urging her to oppose the Trump administration's request for $57 million to expand Shasta Dam in the FY20 Senate Energy and Water appropriations bill.

Expanding Shasta Dam would violate California state law, destroy sacred sites of the Winnemem Wintu Tribe that are still in use today, and harm salmon and other native fish and wildlife. The attached letter urges Sen. Feinstein to reject the Trump administration's request and instead work with the State of California and other stakeholders to ensure that any FY20 appropriations bill focus on funding more productive, less controversial water supply projects.
