The CARES Act gave a massive ‘stealth bailout’ to the oil and gas
industry. Billions of dollars of taxpayer funds were given directly to
fossil fuel companies, some of them already bankrupt. In one case, a
bankrupt offshore oil company received $9.7 Million, and then
requested $9.7 million in bonuses for their 9 top executives.
