Hi Friends - CAC is excited to announce the launch of triplecheck, a campaign to slow the spread of online malicious content and misinformation.
Misinformation is rampant on social media. triplecheck will use cutting-edge technology to identify malicious content and engage users as they are exposed to or as they share misinformation. The approach is unique. Instead of fact checking or trying to change minds, triplecheck will educate audiences about how to spot misinformation and to consider the sources of information before posting or spreading it online.
Why "triplecheck"? triplecheck educates people about misinformation and provides people with three tips to consider before sharing content:
* Do you know and trust the original source of this information?
* Am I sure that this post tells the while story?
* Was this post written to provoke and divide?
The goal is not to tell people what to share or what to believe. The mission is to slow the spread of misinformation online, or to triplecheck, before you share.
