Hi folks,

As you all know, the Senate passed the conferenced NDAA bill last week, sending the bill to the President's desk to be signed into law. The final version of the bill included a modified version of the MMPA language that-while still harmful to marine mammal conservation-is significantly improved from the original proposal.

The attached letter will be sent to congressional champions who worked to remove the MMPA provision from the bill, and/or helped ensure that the final language was significantly less harmful than the original proposal: Senators Schumer, Reed, Nelson and Cantwell, and Representatives Smith, Grijalva, Pelosi and Hoyer.
